Here at Cool Dragons Computing, we are crazy about Linux. In particular, Kubuntu, a Debian based Linux that uses the KDE desktop manager. Many people think that Linux is just for Techs or Geeks who spend their lives trying to make it work..... this is simply not true. Todays Linux distributions or "flavors" are every bit, if not more, powerful and user friendly as other major OS's made by Microsoft and Apple.

IBM, HP and Novell are but a few giants of the computing world that have embraced Linux and support its ongoing development.

Don't think you will ever use Linux? Well, you're using it right now and probably have been for years. The server this site is hosted on is running Linux, as are most servers on the web. According to Netcraft, in Febuary 2006 there were 23,748,079 Linux servers on the web representing 66.64% of all servers.

And then there are cell phones. If you use a cell phone, chances are it's running a form of Linux. If not, the next one you buy will. The following was released Jan. 25, 2007:

"Six of the world's largest telecommunications companies have officially launched a non-profit organization dedicated to creating a common mobile Linux software platform. Founded by Motorola, NEC, NTT DoCoMo, Panasonic Mobile Communications, Samsung Electronics, and Vodafone, the LiMo Foundation is inviting membership and participation from application and middleware developers."
